Bristol City's want away winger Micheal McIndoe looks set for a transfer to Coventry City today, the much traveled left winger was thought to be discussing terms during yesterdays 2-2 friendly with Everton.

Gary Johnson also expects a new shot stopper in early this week after Adriano Basso submitted a transfer request. An experienced keeper is expected at Ashton Gate with Johnson not pursuing interest in Czech keeper Lejsal, he quotes "a keeper has recently become available that we did not think was available." It could be a busy week in Bristol, the club are still on the hunt for a target man after Kenny Cooper signed for 1860 Munich from FC Dallas and Lee Trundle may also leave City's strike force.

Leroy Lita looks set to snub Sheffield United and join Middlesbrough this week. The striker is a free agent after leaving Reading and Sky Sports believe the former England U21 is set to undergo a medical in the near future.

Chris Hughton the interim manager at Newcastle United claims he knows nothing about Tottenham Hotspur having a £10m bid for Sebastien Bassong rejected by the club.

Trinidad and Tobago striker Stern John signed a one year deal with Crystal Palace on Thursday. The former Columbus Crew player was on loan with Bristol City last season and did not agree new terms with relegated Southampton. John made his Selhurst Park debut yesterday in the 1-0 defeat to Gillingham.

Ipswich Town have accepted a bid from Preston for midfielder Veliche Schumulikoski. The Macedonian is in talks at Deepdale according to Ipswich boss Roy Keane, he told the clubs web site, "we have accepted an offer for Shumi and he has been talking to Preston over the last day or so, he is trying to finalise bits and pieces here and it looks as though he may be on his way."

The Championship kicks off the season this Friday with Middlesbrough at home to Sheffield United. The game is on Sky Sports at 8pm in the UK and fans in the USA will have to wait until Saturday for West Brom v Newcastle on Setanta Sports Xtra at 12.25pm EST.
